Yeah, Scotland!
I am pleased to announce that the Edinburgh Epistemology Graduate Conference will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland from March 18-19, 2011. "The submission deadline for the conference is 10 January 2011. Although conference attendance is free, you must register for the conference if you plan on attending."
They welcome any papers that relate to any area of epistemology.
This conference is supported by grants from the Scots Philosophical Club and the Aristotelian Society.
I doubt famous Scot, Shirley Manson, will be in attendance, however, it is agreeable to know that she does love nerds.

Logos
According to a page on the PBS website, "The Greek word logos (traditionally meaning word, thought, principle, or speech) has been used among both philosophers and theologians. In most of its usages, logos is marked by two main distinctions - the first dealing with human reason (the rationality in the human mind which seeks to attain universal understanding and harmony), the second with universal intelligence (the universal ruling force governing and revealing through the cosmos to humankind, i.e., the Divine.)"
In keeping with this line of thought, I would like to express my thought that the original Dallas Mavericks logo is more interesting than the current Dallas Mavericks logo.

Another Look at Human Target
Having now seen every first season episode of Human Target, the FOX network series starring Mark Valley and Chi McBride, I can declare that I enjoy this show tremendously. It got better after the first few episodes. It started slowly, but gained a lot of momentum soon after. The comic timing of Chi McBride is fantastic. As well, Jackie Earle Haley (The Bad News Bears-1976, Little Children-2006) as Guerrero is great. Some nice guest appearances by folks such as Grace Park, Lennie James, and Lee Majors have added quite a bit also. Season 2 starts on November 17 on a FOX station near you.

Carnival Magic!
The brilliant film, Carnival Magic, was on Turner Classic Movies last Friday night/Saturday morning! I do not recall any other time in Earth's history that this film has been shown on television. It has never been released on dvd or vhs. I first saw it at the greatness of the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas. Carnival Magic was directed by Al Adamson and was made in 1982. See it if you can!

Human Target
I watched the first two episodes of the new FOX show, Human Target last night. It's pretty good, but I was hoping it would be better. It is nice to see Chi McBride (Boston Public, Pushing Daisies) again. The star of the show, Mark Valley, is good, but I wish his comic timing was better--like Nathan Fillion's.
